Port Macquarie GPs (PMGPs) aims to serve its patients by:

If you are unwell or experiencing cold or flu like symptoms do not present to the clinic. Make a telehealth appointment by booking online via the HotDoc app, from our website or call the clinic on 6584 4544.
If your doctor determines you need to be seen, a time will be arranged for you to attend the Clinic. For general information regarding Coronavirus call the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 020 080.
Please note, it is very important that you have your regular appointments for chronic disease management. These can be done via telehealth to assist you to remain healthy during this time.

What you need to know about the COVID vaccination roll-out
Port Macquarie Gp’s are a COVID vaccine centre, can you tell us the process for those inline to have a vaccination?
Yes, we have been selected to deliver 400 vaccinations per week. Given the floods, we were impressed that the first 400 Covid Vaccinations appeared on Monday afternoon! Port Macquarie GPs is providing this service for the entire community whether or not you are a current patient. All patients please book online. At this stage Covid 19 Vaccination Clinics are all day Monday, Wednesday and Sunday, with half day clinics Tuesday, Thursdays and Friday. Two vaccinations are necessary, ideally 12 weeks apart. Please book both vaccinations at the same time.
The roll out of the vaccination will be done in groups, how do you know what group you are in and where do you go to find this information?
The online booking system will ask questions to confirm eligibility at each stage of the vaccination rollout. If you are not a regular patient please bring a printed health summary from your normal GP with you. Alternatively there is online eligibility checker: covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility
The current stage 1b is essentially for all people aged 70 and over, people with chronic disease and front line health and aged care and disability workers, carers and onsite administrative staff.
This is also fluvax season. Please be aware that the Covid 19 vaccination should not be given within 14 days of any other vaccination, including fluvax.
It’s going to be a very busy period. What advice do you have for your people coming in for regular appointments and for those who are coming just for a vaccination?
Port Macquarie GPs is blessed with doctors, nurses and administration staff who are all working additional to their normal hours to provide this community service. It is important to us that regular services are not affected. However the phones may be very busy. Please book online if you can. As with all things Covid… please be patient and tolerant, this is a huge logistical effort and people are working very hard. Not everyone can get their vaccination immediately. It will take months to vaccinate the whole community.

After Hours Care
If you are a regular patient of the clinic and need urgent telephone advice from one of our doctors when we are closed, you can contact our On Call Doctor.
